Job Description

Practice high-quality, relationship-based dentistry in a modern, values-driven clinic while actually enjoying your life outside of work. Join us in Nanaimo on beautiful Vancouver Island for a full-time (4-day) associate position with true work-life balance, ocean-side living, and a supportive, growth-oriented team.

About Us
We are a privately owned, modern dental practice in Nanaimo, BC, on Vancouver Island's east coast, with easy access to ocean, trails, and mountains. Our clinic is fully digital and high-tech, with a strong focus on patient experience, comprehensive care, and a positive, collaborative work environment.

Our vision is to be the kind of practice where we would proudly send our own families: evidence-based, ethical dentistry delivered with time, empathy, and respect. We value long-term relationships with patients, clear communication, and a culture where every team member feels respected, supported, and heard.

We invest in systems and training so the team can do their best work without chaos or burnout. You'll be joining a clinic that values consistency, kindness, and continuous improvement over production-at-all-costs.

The Opportunity
Full-time associate role: 4 days per week, with no regular evenings and the option to tailor your schedule.

Established patient base with healthy new-patient flow.

Mentorship and collaboration with experienced dentists, including support for growth in areas such as implants, endo, surgery, lasers, and aesthetics based on your interests.

Clinical autonomy within a well-organized, systems-driven practice that aligns with your professional judgment and our shared values.

Longer appointments where appropriate so you can provide comprehensive care, build trust, and avoid feeling rushed.

If you are looking for a practice where you can do more comprehensive dentistry, have time with patients, and still get home in daylight, this will be a strong fit.

Technology and Clinical Environment
Fully digital charts, digital radiography, and modern, well-equipped treatment rooms.

3D imaging / scanning and other high-tech equipment to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.

Emphasis on comfortable, minimally invasive dentistry and patient education so patients understand and engage in their care.

A well-trained clinical and admin team, clear systems, and strong leadership so you can focus on dentistry rather than logistics.

A calm, respectful environment where we support each other, give and receive feedback constructively, and celebrate wins as a team.

This is a great environment if you enjoy leveraging technology and systems to deliver efficient, high-quality care in a stable, low-drama setting.

Why Nanaimo / Vancouver Island
Nanaimo offers a rare mix of city amenities and immediate access to nature. Within 10-15 minutes you can be on a mountain trail, at the beach, or on the water, hiking Mount Benson, walking the Harbourfront walkway, exploring coastal parks, or catching a ferry to nearby islands.

Living here means:
Oceanfront and forest trails on your doorstep, with a mild West Coast climate.

Easy access to kayaking, diving (including artificial reefs), biking, and trail running.

A relaxed, friendly community with local cafes, markets, arts, and culture.

Direct connections to Victoria, Vancouver, and the rest of the Island for weekend getaways.

If you're craving a lifestyle with fresh air, less commuting, and more time outdoors, Nanaimo delivers.

What We Offer
Competitive percentage or daily minimum, with strong earning potential (6-figure plus for a full schedule, depending on experience and procedures).

A true 4-day workweek designed to support work-life balance, not just promise it.

Option to discuss relocation support or a signing bonus for the right candidate.

CE support and mentoring, especially if you want to grow specific clinical skills and align your development with our practice vision.

A stable, respectful team where people stay because they genuinely enjoy working together.

A leadership team that cares about your wellbeing, checks in regularly, and is open to ideas that improve care, systems, and team culture.

We are intentional about creating a practice where you can do your best work and still enjoy evenings on the water, in the forest, or with family.

Who You Are
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) with the BC College of Oral Health Professionals.

Comfortable providing comprehensive general dentistry and committed to high clinical standards and ethical care.

Enjoy working collaboratively with a team, value clear communication, and want to build long-term patient relationships.

Looking for a lifestyle move, not just a job - Vancouver Island appeals to you for its access to nature and balanced pace of life.

Aligned with a values-driven environment where kindness, respect, accountability, and continuous learning matter.

New grads and experienced dentists are welcome; mentorship can be tailored to your level and goals.
