Temporary Associate Dentist
University Ave Dental Clinic is seeking a skilled and patient-focused Temporary Associate Dentist to provide coverage for our main dentist during periods of absence.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dentist looking for flexible temporary work in a supportive clinical environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality general dental care while maintaining the clinic’s standards of patient care and professionalism.

Position Details
Position: Temporary Associate Dentist
Practice: University Ave Dental Clinic
Compensation: 40% commission-based
Schedule: Temporary/locum coverage, based on the main dentist’s availability and scheduled absences
Role: Provide coverage for the primary dentist while they are away
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive general dental care to existing patients
Perform examinations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and appropriate dental procedures
Deliver high-quality, patient-centred care
Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
Communicate treatment options and recommendations clearly to patients
Manage emergency and urgent dental concerns as required
Follow all infection control, sterilization, and clinical safety protocols
Work collaboratively with dental hygienists, assistants, reception staff, and other team members
Maintain the clinic’s standards of professionalism, ethics, and patient care
Ensure continuity of care for patients during the primary dentist’s absence
Qualifications & Requirements
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree
Licensed and in good standing with the appropriate provincial dental regulatory body
Current professional liability insurance
Current CPR/BLS certification
Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently while integrating smoothly into an established dental team
Commitment to providing excellent patient care
