Duties
Perform a wide range of general dental procedures including examinations, cleanings, fillings, crowns, bridges, and extractions with precision and care.
Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing dental terminology and medical diagnosis techniques to develop effective treatment plans.
Utilize dental imaging technology and knowledge of anatomy to diagnose oral health issues accurately.
Execute specialized treatments such as root canal therapy, dental implants, orthodontics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery when necessary.
Maintain detailed medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations.
Apply infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety during all procedures.
Communicate clearly with patients about their diagnoses, treatment options, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and trust.
Collaborate with team members using dental office software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix to streamline patient management and medical documentation.
Assist in dental fabrication processes and support other clinical staff during four-handed dentistry procedures for efficiency.
Stay current on advancements in general dentistry practices and adhere to all healthcare diagnosis standards.
Qualifications
Valid state licensure as a General Dentist with active DEA registration if applicable.
Proven experience in dental office or clinic settings with a strong understanding of dental terminology and medical terminology.
Proficiency in dental software platforms such as Epic, Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in pediatric dentistry, including pediatric dentistry techniques and pediatric patient care.
Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic technique essential for safe practice environments.
Ability to perform complex procedures like dental extractions, root canal therapy, oral surgery, prosthodontics, orthodontics, and dental implants confidently.
Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain diagnoses clearly and compassionately.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with state healthcare laws governing medical documentation and patient privacy.
Familiarity with medical imaging techniques used for diagnosis purposes.
Commitment to ongoing professional development in general dentistry disciplines including endodontics and anesthesiology.
