Duties
Deliver comprehensive pediatric dental care, including examinations, diagnoses, and treatment planning tailored to children's unique needs
Perform dental procedures such as dental restorations, extractions, root canal therapy, and placement of dental implants when necessary
Utilize advanced techniques like four-handed dentistry to enhance efficiency and patient comfort during procedures
Conduct patient assessments, including medical history review and oral health evaluations, adhering to HIPAA and state healthcare regulations
Maintain accurate and detailed medical and dental records using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
Ensure infection control protocols and aseptic techniques are strictly followed to maintain a safe clinical environment
Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-care instructions in an empathetic manner
Collaborate with the dental team on case planning involving orthodontics, prosthodontics, oral surgery, and other specialties as needed
Assist with dental fabrication procedures and utilize medical imaging tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Uphold all healthcare diagnosis standards by applying knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and pediatric dentistry best practices
Qualifications
Valid license or certification to practice pediatric dentistry in the respective state
Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on pediatric patients; prior experience in a pediatric dental clinic is preferred
Proficiency with electronic health records systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques
Familiarity with dental procedures including extractions, endodontics (root canal therapy), orthodontics, oral surgery, prosthodontics, and dental implants
Ability to communicate clearly with children and their families while demonstrating patience and empathy
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws governing patient privacy and safety
Excellent skills in patient care assessment, diagnosis formulation, treatment planning, and medical documentation
Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and safety protocols in the clinical environment
