Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual (Spanish/English) Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
Greet patients warmly in both Spanish and English, ensuring a positive first impression and excellent customer service.
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance claim submissions accurately.
Collect payments, process medical billing, and perform medical collections to ensure timely revenue cycle management.
Review documentation for accuracy, including intake forms, care plans, CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) coding, ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding such as ICD-10/ICD-9, and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Maintain organized medical records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
Answer multi-line phone systems professionally, handle appointment rescheduling, and provide clear information about procedures and billing.
Support office management tasks such as filing, data entry with 10-key typing skills, and maintaining accurate dental records using software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
Requirements
Proven clinic or dental office experience with strong knowledge of dental terminology and medical coding practices including ICD-10/ICD-9, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is essential for effective communication with diverse patient populations.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms; experience with dental-specific software like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to health information management and patient privacy.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent phone etiquette, customer service skills, and professional appearance.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with basic computer skills for documentation review and data entry.
Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and administrative support tasks.
Prior office management or front desk experience within a healthcare or dental setting is highly desirable.
