Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and bilingual (Spanish & English) Medical Front Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will be the welcoming face and friendly voice for patients, ensuring a smooth and efficient front desk operation. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help create a positive experience for every patient while managing essential administrative tasks. Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse patient populations. Duties
Greet patients warmly, verify their appointment details, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth.
Schedule appointments accurately, manage patient flow, and coordinate with clinical staff to optimize clinic efficiency.
Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and process medical billing and collections in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Handle multi-line phone systems professionally, answer inquiries promptly, and direct calls appropriately while maintaining excellent phone etiquette.
Maintain accurate medical records by filing documents correctly, reviewing documentation for completeness, and updating patient information in various EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems like eClinicalWorks or Dentrix.
Assist with medical administrative support tasks such as insurance verification, intake processing, and data entry using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA standards by safeguarding patient information during all interactions and documentation review processes.
Floating among different locations (5 mile radius from each other), if need be
Skills
Bilingual fluency in English and [second language], with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
Experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix.
Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), typing (10 key), and familiarity with office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally while demonstrating patience and empathy.
Knowledge of health information management practices including documentation review and medical records management.
Familiarity with insurance verification processes, Medicare regulations, HIPAA compliance standards, and dental/medical terminology.
Previous clinic or medical office experience preferred; strong clerical skills in filing, scheduling, and front desk operations are essential.
