Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Bilingual Medical Office Receptionist to join our healthcare team! In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Your bilingual skills will ensure clear communication with diverse patient populations, helping to create a welcoming and efficient clinical environment. You will handle appointment scheduling, insurance verification, medical records management, and support the overall flow of clinic operations. Responsibilities
Greet patients and visitors warmly in both English and the designated second language, ensuring a positive first impression.
Schedule appointments accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks.
Verify insurance coverage, including Medicare and Medicaid, and assist with insurance documentation review.
Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and clear communication.
Maintain accurate medical records, including filing, data entry, and updating patient information within EMR systems like Athenahealth or Dentrix.
Assist with medical billing processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and collection of payments or copayments.
Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans, intake procedures, and documentation review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Handle administrative duties such as faxing, scanning documents, and managing office supplies to keep the front desk organized and efficient.
Requirements
Proven experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role within clinics or dental offices.
Bilingual proficiency in English and the second language (e.g., Spanish), with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, Dentrix or Eaglesoft is highly preferred.
Experience with insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurers.
Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and typing accuracy (10-key typing).
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professional communication standards.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and record keeping.
Prior clinic or dental office experience is highly desirable; familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
