Job Description
Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Certified Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care in a fast-paced, welcoming environment. As a key member of the dental practice, you will support dentists during various procedures, ensure patient comfort, and uphold the highest standards of infection control and clinical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your technical skills while making a positive impact on patients’ oral health and overall well-being.
Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a wide range of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery.
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain infection control standards.
Take dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper technique and patient safety.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Opendental, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
Provide excellent dental reception services by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and managing patient communications.
Support the use of advanced technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging tools for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
Assist with medical documentation and coding for billing purposes, ensuring all procedures are accurately recorded in medical records.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
Hands-on knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices.
Experience operating dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and digital imaging systems.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and specialists in prosthodontics or endodontics.
Office Hours Are:
Monday - Thursday 8AM - 5PM
1hr lunch break Noon - 1 pm
