Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient care abilities, and familiarity with dental software systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on providing exceptional dental care to patients of all ages, including pediatrics and orthodontics. Prior experience with OPEN Dental systems is highly valued, along with a solid understanding of medical terminology and dental assisting procedures.
Duties
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including restorative, and pediatric treatments
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
Take and develop dental radiographs using CARESTREAM technology
Manage patient records accurately using OPEN dental software systems
Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns throughout their visit
Support front desk activities as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards
Assist with administrative tasks related to patient care coordination and documentation
Qualifications
Certified Dental Assistant license or certification in accordance with provincial requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting
Proficiency with OPEN dental software is an asset
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and general healthcare
Manage clinical supplies and inventory as needed
Strong communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Minimum 1-2 years of dental assisting experience is required
Commitment to maintaining high standards of infection control and patient confidentiality
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
