Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Level II Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. This position in a Full-Time Permanent position consisting of 24-30+hours per week. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients while ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow within the office. This position requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
Assist dentists during examinations and procedures by providing necessary instruments and materials.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.

Taking dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.

Record patient medical histories, charting and vital signs accurately.

Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.

Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups.

Maintain accurate patient records using dental software systems - Tracker
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not necessary (new graduates welcome)
Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is essential.

Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients and team members.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Qualifications:
Completion of a Canadian Dental Assisting program
Certified Level II or plans to write the NDAEB exam within the year
HARP Certified
CPR/BLS Certificate
IPAC regulations knowledge and completion of PHO IPAC courses
