Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental assisting, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care and supporting the clinical operations of the practice. The Certified Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining high standards of safety and hygiene, and supporting the overall success of the practice.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including restorative, orthodontic, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary equipment, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures.
Manage patient records accurately using dental software such as Dentrix and Epic, including scheduling appointments and updating medical histories.
Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, answering queries, and coordinating appointment logistics.
Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans to promote optimal oral health outcomes.
Support orthodontic procedures by taking impressions, fabricating appliances using CAD technology, and assisting with adjustments.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Collaborate with team members to streamline operations and enhance patient experience through effective communication and teamwork.
Qualifications
Valid certification as a Dental Assistant from an accredited program; experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred.
Proficiency in dental software systems such "Dentrix" and "Dexis" for x-rays, progress notes, scheduling, record keeping, and billing purposes.
Experience working as a dental receptionist or in front-office administration within a dental practice is advantageous.
Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care and patient documentation.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly with patients of all ages, including children in pediatric settings.
Ability to multitask efficiently in a busy clinical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
