Job Title: Certified Dental Assistant (CDA)
Location: Downtown Vancouver - Transcend Specialized Dentistry
Position Type: Full-time (4-5 days/week)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (No evenings or weekends, unless there is interest)
Salary Range: starting at $38 - $44 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Dental Assistant to join our multi-specialty dental practice with specialists in prosthodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics. The ideal candidate will have experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires adaptability, a commitment to continuous learning, and a drive to excel in a team environment dedicated to clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Assistance and Patient Care:
Chairside assisting during procedures with specialists
Setting up and turning over operatories between procedures
Safely handling and taking digital radiographs and CBCT scans
Taking digital impressions and photographs
Providing patients with post-operative instructions
Ensuring patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
Greeting patients and conducting introductory interviews
Assisting specialists during consultations
Drafting clinical notes as per specialist requirements
Reviewing estimates and treatment plans with patients
Checking patients out and scheduling their next appointments
Collecting payments and deposits when applicable
Engaging in a professional, friendly, and personal way with patients
Sterilization and Maintenance:
Handling sterilization of instruments and equipment
Conducting equipment maintenance checks and reporting any issues promptly
Maintaining a sterile environment through proper infection control techniques
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Current Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) certification in British Columbia
Minimum 2 years of experience as a CDA, preferably in a specialty office
Experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures
Proficiency in dental radiography, digital impressions, and photography
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
Knowledge of dental practice management software
Commitment to continuing education and professional development
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
Desirable but not essential: experience across multiple dental specialties (prosthodontics, periodontics, orthodontics)
