Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in clinical assisting, patient care, and dental procedures, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a pediatric dental office. As a Certified Dental Assistant, you will support dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Your expertise will contribute to providing comprehensive dental care while fostering a welcoming atmosphere for patients.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various dental procedures, including restorative, frenectomy, consultation , orthodontics
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection prevention management policies.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems
Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, vital signs, and medical history in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive measures and treatment plans to promote overall dental wellness.
Operate dental equipment including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools while adhering to aseptic techniques.
Support administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient management software, and coordinating with the dental reception team.
Maintain clinical confidentiality policies at all times while ensuring the clinic adheres to infection control standards and sterilization procedures.
Skills
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR systems) and patient management software
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and communication skills
Experience with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Skilled in chairside assisting across various specialties including pediatric dentistry, orthodontics
Familiarity with dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and other diagnostic tools.
Ability to perform vital signs assessment and medical imaging accurately while maintaining patient comfort.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds and collaborate with the dental team.
Knowledge of healthcare infection control protocols and clinical confidentiality policies aligned with HIPAA standards.
