Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure smooth clinical operations, and deliver outstanding patient care. Duties
Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient care.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to safety protocols and radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; ensure all documentation complies with HIPAA regulations.
Perform clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and maintaining aseptic technique to prevent infection.
Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and infection prevention management policies.
Support patient management by scheduling appointments, updating medical histories, and providing pre- and post-treatment instructions.
Requirements
Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
Proven experience in dental assisting within a busy dental clinic environment; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics is highly desirable.
Proficiency with dental software including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Patient management software, and Medical documentation systems like Epic.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and dental equipment operation.
Experience with X-ray procedures, dental sterilization procedures, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform chairside assisting using four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Knowledge of healthcare infection prevention and control standards including HIPAA compliance is essential.
