Job Summary
Our well- established general dental practice is seeking a full time certified dental assistant. Our team prides itself on comprehensive, personalized dental care. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of dental procedures, patient care, and clinical operations, with a focus on delivering exceptional service in a fast-paced environment. You would be joining a fabulous team and work in a positive, pleasant environment.
Responsibilities
Assist dentists during various dental procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly.
Take dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to safety protocols and radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records using Dentrix software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance workflow efficiency.
Monitor vital signs and medical history documentation to support comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients on post-treatment care, oral hygiene practices, and treatment plans while addressing their questions professionally.
Maintain infection control standards by following aseptic techniques and adhering to OSHA guidelines.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed and managing medical documentation.
Operate advanced imaging equipment including 3D scanners for detailed diagnostics in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics.
Requirements
Valid certification as a Dental Assistant with current licensure or registration in accordance with state regulations.
Proven experience working in a dental environment, preferably with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices.
Proficiency in dental software programs for managing medical records and documentation.
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control procedures.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and pediatric-specific care requirements.
Excellent communication skills combined with a professional demeanor to foster positive patient interactions.
