Position: Level II Dental Assistant

Position Summary:
The Level II Dental Assistant provides advanced clinical and administrative support to dentists and the dental team, ensuring efficient patient care, proper use of instruments, and adherence to infection prevention and control standards. This role requires both technical competence in assisting with procedures and administrative support, contributing to a smooth and safe clinical workflow while enhancing patient experience.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical Support
Prepare treatment rooms and instruments for dental procedures
Assist dentists, restorative hygienists, orthodontists, and dental hygienists during procedures, including restorative, surgical, and preventive treatments
Maintain proper sterilization and disinfection of instruments, equipment, and operatories in compliance with IPAC standards
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) under a dentist's supervision
Take digital and alginate impressions under a dentist’s supervision
Provide chairside support, including patient comfort, suctioning, and instrument handling
Monitor patients during procedures and provide post-treatment instructions as directed by the dentist
Administrative & Patient Coordination
Prepare patient charts, documentation, lab prescriptions and clinical notes
Schedule appointments and assist with patient intake procedures
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-treatment care, and preventive practices
Assist with billing, insurance verification, and collection of patient payments as required
Support front desk and office staff with coordination of patient flow and clinic communications
Equipment & Supply Management
Maintain dental instruments, materials, and equipment inventory
Ensure proper storage, handling, and disposal of dental materials and sharps
Report equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the Office Manager or the supervising dentist
Quality & Compliance
Follow all occupational health, safety, and infection control protocols
Participate in clinic audits, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all patient interactions and documentation
Skills & Qualifications:
Diploma or certificate in Dental Assisting from an accredited institution
Current registration or certification as a Level II Dental Assistant (if applicable in your jurisdiction)
2–4 years of clinical experience in a dental clinic or healthcare setting, with exposure to restorative, surgical, and preventive procedures
Proficient in dental radiography, sterilization protocols, and chairside assistance
Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards
Strong organizational, communication, and patient care skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Competence in Tracker dental software, scheduling systems, and basic administrative tasks
Professional demeanour, reliability, and attention to detail
Hours of Work:
Part-time, 3–4 days per week (day shift)
Workdays fall between Monday and Thursday, 8:45 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
