Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental team to provide exceptional patient care. This position is for Tuesdays 8:30am-5pm and Fridays 8:30am-3pm.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare treatment rooms for procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available
- Take dental x-rays
- Perform dental charting and documentation
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments, suctioning, and providing retraction
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry
- Familiarity with dental software systems
- Knowledge of medical coding for dental procedures
- Ability to take accurate vital signs
- Understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic technique
Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards patients
