Job Description
Avenue Dental is seeking a full time administrative assistant!
The ideal candidate should be one who is patient focused with detail and have the ability to multi task in a busy environment. Strong communication skills required with experience in a medical or dental office preferred. This position is ideal for a candidate that flourishes in a team environment.
Schedule: 4-5 days per week (40-42 hours per week)
Salary is negotiable and will depend on skill set as well as work experience.
A summary of responsibilities:
Maintain and manage patient records in compliance with privacy and security acts
Contribute to a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and families that leaves a lasting impression
Schedule patient appointments efficiently; maximize patient scheduling, fill in cancellations and no-shows promptly
Organize referrals to other dental specialists and dental labs
Manage patient check-in, updating dental patient status.
Build patient relationship through ongoing dialogue via phones, emails, texts.
Managing A/ R reports, posting payment
Managing and organizing patient treatment plans, in coordination with other team members
Process and manage patient payments by reviewing and inputting insurance claims and/ or pre-determinations through EDI
Additional Tasks as assigned by management
Key Skills:
An outgoing friendly personality to make our lovely patients feel at ease
Ability to think independently with minimal supervision
Exceptional communication skills
Knowledge of some dental terminology and procedures would be an asset
Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
