Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dental Administrator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office operations. As a Dental Administrator, you will be responsible for managing front desk activities, coordinating patient appointments, handling billing and insurance claims, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily office functions. Your role is vital in creating a welcoming environment for patients while maintaining efficiency and accuracy in administrative processes.
Responsibilities
Greet patients warmly and manage all front desk activities, including check-in and check-out procedures.
Schedule patient appointments efficiently using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
Verify patient insurance coverage, process claims, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMRs) and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls appropriately and providing exceptional customer service.
Coordinate communication between patients, dental staff, and external providers to facilitate seamless care delivery.
Manage office supplies, organize files, and ensure the cleanliness of the reception area to uphold a professional environment.
Support the dental team by assisting with administrative tasks related to patient care and office operations.
Requirements
Proven experience as a dental receptionist or in a similar dental office administrative role.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, Epic electronic health records (EHR), Dentrix practice management software, and medical terminology.
Prior experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and managing insurance claims processes.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems and managing appointment scheduling efficiently.
Office experience within a healthcare setting is preferred; familiarity with medical office procedures is advantageous.
Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with patients, staff, and external providers.
