Job Description
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Anesthesiologist, where you will play a vital role in providing specialized anesthesia services for complex dental procedures. This position offers an exciting opportunity to combine advanced anesthesiology techniques with comprehensive dental care, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout their treatment journey. As a key member of our clinical team, you will collaborate closely with dentists, oral surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment. Your expertise will help facilitate procedures ranging from routine dental surgeries to intricate pediatric and adult interventions, all while adhering to the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities
Administer anesthesia and sedation techniques tailored to individual patient needs, including general anesthesia, conscious sedation, and local anesthesia.
Conduct thorough patient assessments prior to procedures, reviewing medical history, current medications, and allergy information to develop personalized anesthesia plans.
Monitor vital signs continuously during procedures using advanced medical imaging and monitoring equipment to ensure patient stability and safety.
Collaborate with dental practitioners to plan and execute complex procedures such as dental extractions, root canal therapy, prosthodontics, and oral surgeries.
Maintain detailed medical documentation and dental records in compliance with HIPAA and state healthcare regulations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination during all procedures.
Educate patients about anesthesia options, post-procedure care, and safety precautions to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Anesthesiologist or in a similar role within a dental clinic or healthcare setting.
Extensive knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and healthcare diagnosis related to oral health.
Hands-on experience with dental office management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms for medical documentation and record keeping.
Strong background in pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and general dentistry procedures involving anesthesia support.
Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, medical imaging technology, and dental fabrication processes.
Demonstrated ability to perform patient care assessments efficiently while maintaining a compassionate approach for diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
Certification in anesthesiology or sedation dentistry is highly preferred; valid licensure in accordance with state healthcare regulations is required.
