Job Overview

Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, materials, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized according to infection prevention management policies.

Assist dentists chairside during various procedures such as X-ray imaging, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and other dental treatments.

Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment like digital sensors and 3D scanners while maintaining strict adherence to dental x-ray safety protocols.

Manage patient records accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for clinical confidentiality policies.

Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, taking vital signs, and managing patient management software for scheduling and follow-up appointments.

Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, verifying insurance information, updating medical documentation, and managing medical records efficiently.

Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments according to sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.

Assist with dental equipment setup, troubleshooting technical issues related to dental technology including intraoral cameras or 3D scanners.

Follow infection control protocols rigorously to prevent healthcare-associated infections in line with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.

Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred; familiarity with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, prosthodontics, or endodontics is advantageous.

Proficiency with dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge.

Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures and infection prevention management is essential for maintaining clinical safety standards.

Knowledge of dental equipment operation such as X-ray machines, digital imaging systems, 3D scanners, and patient management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix is desirable.

Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and medical records management in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills as a Dental Receptionist or front-office support role is beneficial for providing outstanding patient service.
