Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a wide range of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes
Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing patient questions with professionalism and empathy
Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic flow through effective scheduling and reception duties as a dental receptionist when needed
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Proficiency in dental software Open Dental for managing medical records and documentation
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners with precision and safety
Strong understanding of dental terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics to accurately document procedures and patient information
Familiarity with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for optimal efficiency
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and infection control protocols within a dental clinic environment
Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; additional certifications in pediatric dentistry or endodontics are a plus
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages, especially children in pediatric dentistry settings
