Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring all tools and materials are prepared efficiently.
Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and medical imaging devices while adhering to strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
Take and develop digital X-rays, ensuring accurate positioning and image quality for diagnosis.
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Support patient care by taking vital signs, explaining procedures clearly, and assisting with chairside assisting to improve patient comfort.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols and OSHA standards.
Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient scheduling, reception duties as a dental receptionist when needed, and accurate medical documentation for each patient visit.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely while maintaining patient comfort and safety standards.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is preferred.
Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and support patients throughout their visit.
