Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, taking vital signs, and ensuring the comfort of patients.
Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Take and record vital signs of patients
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment
- Take and develop dental x-rays
- Perform dental receptionist duties, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
- Assist with medical documentation and coding
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices
- Provide post-operative instructions to patients
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies
Skills:
- Proficiency in taking vital signs and performing patient assessments
- Knowledge of dental receptionist duties, including appointment scheduling and record keeping
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques, such as x-rays
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy laws
