Job Summary
Randolph & Associates Family Dentistry is looking for a Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team of dental professionals in Bloomington, IL! We serve all demographics of the population, from preschoolers to the elderly, and we operate a busy office with high levels of traffic. In addition to preventive care appointments and scheduled procedures, we accept emergency calls. Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental equipment, and ensuring all supplies are ready for patient appointments.
Take dental X-rays while adhering to radiation safety protocols and infection prevention standards.
Manage patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and managing patient comfort throughout visits.
Maintain clinical cleanliness by following strict dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and assisting with front desk duties as a dental receptionist when needed.
Follow all clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare infection prevention protocols to safeguard patient information and health.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic or healthcare environment is required.
Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical records management is advantageous.
Knowledge of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and other clinical tools is highly desirable.
Experience with dental assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting will set you apart.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention is essential.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
Certification in CPR or basic life support (BLS) is a plus; ongoing training in medical terminology and clinical confidentiality policies is encouraged.
