Job Description
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting the dentist during procedures, performing administrative tasks, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients. Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing the treatment area, sterilizing instruments, and handing instruments to the dentist
- Take dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures
- Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring models and trimming temporary crowns
- Maintain accurate patient records and update medical documentation as necessary
- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office calendar
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
- X-Ray certification required; knowledge of Dentrix software is a plus
- Strong knowledge of dental assisting procedures, including infection control and aseptic technique
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients
- Proficient in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
