Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this vital role, you will provide advanced chairside assistance, under the supervision of the dentist, and ensure smooth, efficient patient care. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional dental services in a fast-paced environment, emphasizing patient comfort, safety, and clinical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your comprehensive dental assisting skills while contributing to a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency.
Perform expanded functions such as coronal polishing, applying sealants, taking impressions, and placing temporary restorations following state regulations.
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
Take high-quality X-rays and medical imaging while ensuring proper positioning and safety measures to protect patients from radiation exposure.
Manage electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions.
Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
Support front desk operations by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records as a dental receptionist when needed.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to facilitate accurate documentation and billing processes.
Stay current with infection control standards and best practices in dental assisting to ensure patient safety at all times.
Experience
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a general dentistry or specialty practice, with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is essential for managing digital records efficiently.
Hands-on experience performing chairside assisting in procedures involving prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialties.
Knowledge of X-ray techniques, medical imaging procedures, and vital signs monitoring is required.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and dental terminology.
Experience working with pediatric patients is highly desirable to create a welcoming environment for children.
