Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant and play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care! In this energetic position, you will assist dentists during a variety of procedures, ensure the smooth operation of the clinic, and help create a welcoming environment for patients of all ages. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed for every procedure
Assist dentists chairside during examinations, restorations, extractions, and other dental treatments with precision and confidence
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and medical imaging tools
Manage patient records efficiently using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
Provide vital signs monitoring and support all ages dentistry procedures by creating a friendly environment for young patients
Support infection control protocols by sterilizing instruments, maintaining proper hygiene standards, and following strict aseptic techniques
Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team including reception staff to handle medical documentation, medical coding, and appointment scheduling as a dental receptionist when needed
Requirements
Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry setting with familiarity in dental terminology and anatomy knowledge
Proficiency in EMR systems such as open dental, dentrix
Knowledge of infection control practices, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining a safe clinical environment
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while adhering to safety standards; certification in X-ray technology preferred
Strong understanding of dental procedures and chairside assisting techniques like four-handed dentistry
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages
Flexibility to adapt to various clinical tasks such as vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and assisting with complex dental treatments
