Job Summary

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment following dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry with chairside assistance and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging using digital systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems while maintaining strict clinical confidentiality policies.
Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management by providing compassionate care, explaining procedures clearly, and ensuring patient comfort throughout visits.
Process dental instruments efficiently to maintain a sterile environment, adhering to infection prevention management standards and aseptic techniques.
Support front desk operations as needed by assisting the dental receptionist with appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, and managing medical documentation with precision.
Requirements
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures and dental terminology.
Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar patient management software; familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of dental x-ray techniques, oral surgery procedures, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry practices.
Knowledge of infection control standards including dental sterilization procedures and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Ability to perform medical documentation accurately while respecting patient privacy laws such as HIPAA.
Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members including dentists, hygienists, and administrative staff.
Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is preferred; additional certifications in medical terminology or healthcare infection prevention are advantageous.
