Job Description
We are a small family friendly practice in Burton, MI with one dentist (Daniel Eisinger) who graduated from the University of Michigan in 2015. We are looking for a full-time dental assistant. Looking for either experienced dental assistant/RDA. Our schedule is Mondays and Wednesdays from 8-6 and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-5. Hourly rate is based on experience and licensing.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for assisting the dentist in the clinical treatment of patients
Specific Duties:
Patient Management
Set up treatment rooms for procedures
Escort and seat patients to treatment rooms
Ensure patients are always attended
Anticipate and assist dentist’s needs
Obtain and review health histories
Ensure patients’ questions are answered thoroughly before they leave
Escort patients from the treatment rooms
Give patient instructions and demonstrate as neededTreatment Room Management and Sterilization
Keep dental units ready, stocked, and clean
Oversee cleanliness of treatment rooms according to OSHA regulations
Disinfect treatment rooms after each procedure
Manage nitrous and oxygen tanks as well as nose pieces when patients need nitrous oxide
Sterilize all instruments and handpieces according to OSHA regulations
Keep trays, instruments, and treatment room drawers organized
Mix dental materials
Take intra-oral scans
Take prescribed x-rays
Monitor dental laboratory cases
Follow laboratory procedures according to office protocol (i.e., disinfect impressions, clean and disinfect laboratory)
Records Management
Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with state and federal requirements, including the HIPAA privacy and security regulations
Updated health histories
Arrange patient charts for next day’s appointments
Inventory Management
Monitor inventory and order dental office supplies as needed
Ensure that treatment rooms are stocked at all times
Office Participation
Help in other areas of the office when necessary (i.e., answering phones, unpacking supplies, cleaning hygiene rooms, etc.)
Promote team concept by interacting with others in the office
Personnel Requirements:
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
X-Ray Certified
And/or Graduate of accredited dental assisting program
Interpersonal
Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentis, other staff members, and community
Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients and staff
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
