Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed.
Manage paperwork efficiently, including patient histories and treatment plans.
Take and record vital signs as needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
Utilize dental software systems, such as Open Denal, for scheduling appointments and managing patient information.
Perform basic laboratory tasks as directed by the dentist.
Support dental reception duties, including greeting patients and managing front desk tasks when necessary.
Skills
Proficiency in medical terminology related to dentistry.
Strong knowledge of general dentistry practices and procedures.
Experience with four-handed dentistry techniques is preferred.
Familiarity with aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and infection control.
Ability to manage medical records accurately and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
Experience with dental receptionist duties is a plus.
Capability to take vital signs accurately.
