Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Dental Assistant at Park Slope Kids Dental Care, you will play a vital role in supporting dental procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining smooth office operations. Reporting to the Office Manager and working closely with the dentist, your responsibilities will include assisting with treatments, taking radiographs, providing oral hygiene guidance, and maintaining a safe, sterile environment. Your experience and knowledge of pediatric dental procedures will enhance communication with patients and contribute to a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures
Assist the dentist in performing a variety of treatments
Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays)
Obtain and review patient medical histories
Provide patients and parents with oral care instructions and guidance
Teach proper oral hygiene, including brushing, flossing, and nutrition
Comfort patients before, during, and after treatment, including nitrous oxide use
Fabricate temporary restorations and maintain dental appliances
Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control protocols
Support the dental team in daily operations
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Dental Assistant
High School Diploma required; formal training as a Dental Assistant preferred
Comfortable with Dentrix software and other electronic devices
Professional, friendly, dependable, and team-oriented
Knowledge of dental terminology preferred
Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus

Hours:
Tuesday – Wednesday: 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursday – Friday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
Must be available Tuesday through Friday with varied daytime and evening shifts, and every other Saturday (required). Schedule flexibility is required.
