Summary: The Dental Assistant supports dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials; passing instruments and materials; performing procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act. This role will be performed at multiple offices and will require local travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assists the doctor in procedures
Takes x-rays
Takes IO's
Assist in Prophylaxis cleaning of teeth
Instructs patients on oral hygiene
Charts cavities and teeth with doctor
Sterilizes instruments
Sets up/breakdown and prepares rooms for treatment/hygiene
Charting of patient's treatment and treatment plan with doctor
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience: Certification from a dental college; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferred.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic office equipment such as: computer, internet, email, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: X-Ray certification, BLS/CPR certification, and 8-hour Infection Control certification.
Physical and Emotional Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel and talk or hear.
