Job Description

Morrison Dental Care is a privately owned family practice built on high-caliber dentistry, genuine relationships, and a culture of “casual elegance”— where clinical excellence and exceptional patient experiences go hand in hand. We are looking for a skilled, experienced, and motivated Clinical Dental Assistant who brings both excellent chairside skills and a genuine love for the patient experience.

If you are looking for a practice where your skills matter, your ideas are welcomed, and your contributions make a meaningful difference to both patients and the team, we would love to meet you!

About the Role
This is a full-time chairside assistant position working alongside our two dentists. You will be an integral part of a four-person clinical assistant team led by our Lead Clinical Assistant, contributing to smooth daily operations, excellent patient care, and the overall momentum of the practice.

ScheduleOur schedule is thoughtfully designed around exceptional patient care, team wellbeing, and balance. Most weeks are four days and approximately 33–35 clinical hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. In addition, we typically work one Friday per month, with the Monday of that week removed from the schedule. Team meetings, training, and continuing education are part of our ongoing commitment to professional growth and clinical excellence. Our calendar is planned well in advance whenever possible. At the same time, dentistry is a dynamic profession, and we value team members who can remain flexible and adapt as patient needs, schedules, and circumstances evolve.

What You’ll Do
Provide skilled chairside assistance across restorative, surgical, and cosmetic procedures using four-handed dentistry
Seat and prepare patients, review and update medical history, and ensure every patient feels informed and at ease
Enter treatment in real time, document clinical notes same day, and create and phase treatment plans per doctor direction
Maintain infection control standards, sterilization protocols, and OSHA compliance
Communicate clearly with patients about their treatment—using patient-friendly language that reinforces the doctor’s recommendations
Prepare and turn over operatories, and support smooth daily clinical flow
Participate in end-of-day procedures to ensure the team is ready for tomorrow
Cross-train across team roles to support consistency and coverage
Proactively contact patients regarding unscheduled treatment and appointment opportunities to support patient acceptance and maintain a productive schedule
What We’re Looking For
NYS Dental Assistant certification (strongly preferred; we are open to an exceptional candidate who is actively pursuing certification)
Proven chairside experience and confidence assisting with a wide range of clinical procedures
A calm, professional presence that instills confidence in both patients and teammates
Exceptional attention to detail in documentation, charting, treatment planning, and clinical setup
Strong communication skills and the emotional intelligence to build trust with patients and collaborate effectively with team members
A team-first mindset, personal accountability, and a willingness to step in wherever needed to support the practice
Comfort learning and utilizing dental technology, software platforms, and clinical systems
Experience with, or a genuine enthusiasm for, the digital side of dentistry—including intraoral scanning, digital radiography, clinical photography, CAD/CAM workflows, 3D printing, and cosmetically oriented care
A growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving profession
The confidence to speak up, ask questions, and seek understanding when something is unclear, paired with the professionalism and judgment to do so thoughtfully and respectfully
Why You’ll Love Working with Us
· An independently owned, privately held family practice-there are no corporate owners, no DSO involvement, and no plans to change that. Decisions are made by the doctor who works alongside you every day
· A genuinely warm, relationship-based culture where the team actually enjoys coming to work
· A predictable schedule set 6-12 months in advance
· Individual health insurance contribution
· 401(k) with safe harbor employer match
· Extensive dental benefits for you and your immediate family
· Paid time off and sick time
· Continuing education opportunities
· A team that enjoys spending time together both inside and outside the office, with periodic celebrations, outings, and special events throughout the year
· A leadership team that listens, invests in growth, and values the people who show up every day
