Dental Assistant

SUMMARY: To provide clinical support to a state of the art Periodontal Clinic and its team by providing chairside assistance to the dentist and hygienists, taking radiographs, and ensuring infection control protocols are met.

Pay is based on experience with dental assisting, preferably in periodontics and/or oral surgery.

ESSENTIAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform infection control and occupational safety procedures including sterilization and disinfection procedures.
· Prepare patients for dental treatment
· Prepare procedural trays, break down and set up operatories
· Assist in surgical procedures including periodontal surgery, extractions, and dental implants
· Take preliminary medical histories and vital signs to be reviewed by the dentist
· Take dental radiographs including CBCT
· Other dental supportive services authorized by the licensed dentist while under the direct personal supervision of the licensed dentist, provided that such other dental supportive services are not excluded
· Performs other duties as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· 1 year experience working in a dental office
