Job Overview

In this vital role, you will support dentists during clinical procedures, manage patient flow, and ensure the highest standards of infection control and clinical confidentiality. Duties
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, oral surgery, and prosthodontic treatments
Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; ensure accurate documentation of treatment plans and medical history
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, managing patient comfort, and taking vital signs in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies
Support dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment for all clinical activities
Assist with administrative tasks including patient management software updates, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with the dental receptionist
Qualifications
Proven experience working in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and equipment
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable
Strong understanding of infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control expertise
Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while following HIPAA regulations for medical documentation and confidentiality
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry including oral structures necessary for effective chairside assisting
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus
Certification in radiography or X-ray technology required; additional certifications in medical coding or medical documentation are advantageous
Ability to work efficiently using four-handed dentistry techniques and support general dentistry procedures with professionalism and enthusiasm
