Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and excellent communication skills.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain the treatment room, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are ready for use.
Perform medical imaging and assist with radiographic procedures while adhering to safety protocols.
Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage appointment scheduling and patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Ensure infection control standards are met by sterilizing instruments and maintaining a clean work environment.
Utilize dental software such, Dentrix Ascend for record keeping and patient management.
Qualifications
Knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy is essential.
Active radiology certification.
coronal polishing certification.
Experience with infection control practices in a clinical setting is necessary.
Previous experience as a dental receptionist is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
