Job Overview
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly enhance patient care and clinical efficiency. In this vital role, you will support dentists in delivering exceptional general dentistry and specialized procedures such as dental restorations,oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly according to dental sterilization procedures and infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during clinical procedures by providing chairside support, handling dental instruments, and managing dental materials efficiently.
Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to radiation safety standards and ensuring patient comfort.
Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR systems) such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
Gather vital signs and medical history information from patients to assist in treatment planning and ensure comprehensive patient care.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-procedure care, and preventive dentistry to promote long-term oral health.
Support administrative tasks including patient management software updates, appointment scheduling, and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of general dentistry procedures.
Proficiency with dental software such as Softdent for managing medical documentation and records.
Familiarity with dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and clinical procedures including X-ray techniques, oral surgery assistance, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Strong understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection control standards.
Ability to perform dental instrument processing accurately while maintaining strict adherence to infection control policies.
Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry along with the ability to interpret medical terminology accurately.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
Certification in radiography or X-ray technology preferred; ongoing training in medical imaging is advantageous.
