Job Summary
We are a privately owned general practive seeking a full time dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our amazing dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and preventive measures.
Assist with front desk duties when needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments and greeting patients.
Ensure the clinic is clean, organized, and follows all safety protocols related to infection control.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a dental assistant program.
Knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, and aseptic techniques is essential.
X-ray certification required
Experience in a dental office; familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Proficiency in medical documentation practices and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Certification in CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) is preferred but not mandatory.
