Job Summary
Join our dynamic dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your expertise will directly contribute to delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental practitioners. In this energetic role, you will assist with chairside procedures, manage patient records, and ensure the clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols.
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment while maintaining proper radiation safety standards.
Manage patient records accurately using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and guiding patients through their visit process.
Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being.
Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques, proper infection control practices, and knowledge of anatomy to support safe clinical operations.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, with familiarity in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments.
Proficiency in dental assisting tasks such as chairside assisting, taking X-rays, and understanding dental terminology is essential.
Knowledge of EMR systems including Dentrix or Eaglesoft is required; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus.
Strong understanding of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and anatomy knowledge to support safe clinical practices.
Experience working with medical coding and documentation for insurance or billing purposes is advantageous.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, especially children in pediatrics, demonstrating patience and professionalism at all times.
