Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with aseptic techniques.
Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, providing necessary tools and support efficiently.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy.
Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring accurate medical coding within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Monitor vital signs and assist with medical imaging procedures to ensure patient safety before treatment begins.
Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, confirming patient visits, and answering questions professionally.
Maintain infection control standards by following strict sterilization protocols and proper handling of dental instruments and materials.
Support the dental team with administrative tasks, including managing medical records, processing insurance claims, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
Proficiency in EMR systems. Having familiarity with patient dental charting and documentation is necessary.
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients is a plus.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and vendors.
Certification or training in chairside assisting, dental assisting programs, or related fields preferred.
