Job Description
Young Dental Group is a modern, private dental practice in San Mateo focused on personalized, comprehensive care. We prioritize patient education, thoughtful treatment planning, and a calm, welcoming environment. Our team is small, close-knit, and genuinely invested in doing excellent clinical work.
Who This Role Is Perfect For
We're looking for an experienced dental assistant who is confident chairside, excellent with patients, and comfortable supporting restorative procedures from start to finish. This role exists to support the whole team — the doctor, patients, front desk, and fellow clinical staff — not just one part of it. We believe a happy, supported team is what makes quality patient care possible, so how you show up for your coworkers matters as much as your clinical skill.
This is not an entry-level or training role. We're looking for someone who can step in and contribute immediately.
Objectives:
Creating a caring and comfortable environment for patients
Supporting the success of the entire dental team
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining a professional and friendly demeanor while assisting patients in any capacity
Four-handed chairside assisting to keep procedures efficient and comfortable for the patient
Proficient in taking x-rays, 3D scans, and photographic records
Setting up up and breaking down of operatories along with sterilizing equipment
Efficiently up-keeping of the clinical area and maintaining clinician schedules
Secondarily, supporting front desk when necessary (including answering phones and scheduling appointments)
Room for growth
Requirements:
2 years of dental experience with solid understanding of restorative procedures and chairside workflow
Current x-ray license and BLS certification
8-hr CA Board-approved Infection Control and 2-hr Board-approved California Practice Act
Strong computer skills
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Reliable, proactive, and detail-oriented
QUICK and able to multi-task in a face paced environment
Positive energy and enthusiastic about patient AND team care
The office is open four days a week, Tuesday through Friday, from 7AM - 6PM.
Full-time benefits include paid time off, medical, vision, and 401K matching.
How to Apply
Apply with a resume and a short note (3-5 sentences) in the area provided "Additional Information" on what your favorite procedure is to assist and why. We read every application.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $27.00 per hour
Benefits:
401(k) matching
Dental insurance
Employee discount
Health insurance
Paid time off
Vision insurance
Application Question(s):
Will you reliably be present and ready to work at 7AM?
What are your wage per hour expectations?
Additional Information
Experience:
Dental assisting: 1 year (Required)
License/Certification:
X-Ray Certification (Required)
Registered Dental Assistant License (Preferred)
8-hr CA Board-approved Infection Control (Required)
2-hr CA Board-approved Dental Practice Act (Required)
Work Location: In person
