Dental Assistant – Experienced
Gateway Smiles Family Dentistry
We’re looking for an experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly, team-oriented practice!
Schedule: Monday–Thursday
No evenings. No weekends.
Requirements:
Dental assisting experience required
Reliable, organized, and positive
Strong patient care and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment in accordance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols
Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support and managing dental materials
Take dental X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures are followed
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments
Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices to promote ongoing oral health
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with the dental receptionist and updating medical documentation accurately
Skills
Proficiency with Eaglesoft, for managing dental records and documentation
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry settings; familiarity with Invisalign and pediatric dentistry is a plus
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
Knowledge of medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and insurance processing
Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages, especially pediatrics
Ability to perform vital signs assessment and support medical imaging procedures while adhering to safety standards
