Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.

Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing dental instruments according to infection prevention management protocols and setting up necessary equipment such as dental x-ray machines and 3D scanners.

Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques to maintain clinical hygiene standards.

Manage patient records using patient management software and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like SoftDent, ensuring accurate documentation of medical history, vital signs, and treatment notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Support patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions about dental terminology, and managing appointment schedules as a dental receptionist when needed.

Maintain dental equipment functionality through routine checks and troubleshooting; assist with dental instrument processing for sterilization and storage.

Uphold clinical confidentiality policies while handling sensitive medical documentation and medical coding tasks related to general dentistry treatments.

Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, dental terminology, and dental equipment operation.

Familiarity with EMR systems such as SoftDent is highly desirable.

Strong understanding of infection control practices, including dental sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection prevention protocols.

Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.

Knowledge of anatomy relevant to oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry enhances your effectiveness in supporting diverse treatments.

Excellent communication skills for patient management and collaboration within the dental team.

Certification in Dental Assisting or equivalent is preferred; ongoing professional development in medical terminology or pediatric dentistry is a plus.
