Job Summary

Duties
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while ensuring proper use of dental imaging technology in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
Manage patient records using advanced patient management software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar EMR systems, ensuring accurate medical documentation.
Monitor vital signs and medical history to support comprehensive patient care and facilitate safe treatment planning.
Educate patients on oral health practices, post-treatment care, and explain dental terminology clearly to enhance understanding and comfort.
Maintain dental sterilization procedures, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards to uphold safety across all clinical activities.
Requirements
Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental equipment and clinical procedures.
Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for efficient patient record management.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
Certification in dental assisting or relevant healthcare training; additional certifications in X-ray or oral surgery are preferred.
Knowledge of infection prevention management, healthcare infection control expertise, and dental sterilization procedures.
Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques efficiently while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and other healthcare professionals.
Commitment to maintaining clinical confidentiality policies and adhering to all safety protocols related to medical documentation and medical imaging.
