Job Summary

Duties
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools.
Manage patient records with precision using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix, Eaglesoft, and Epic while maintaining HIPAA compliance for patient privacy.
Perform chairside assisting with aseptic technique and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
Collect vital signs and medical history information to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, and managing medical documentation and coding for insurance purposes.
Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively within the team.
Ensure infection control standards are met consistently across the clinic to uphold safety regulations.
Experience
Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred, especially with pediatric dentistry or general dentistry practices.
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix/ Dentrix Ascend essential for managing medical records and documentation efficiently.
Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, including digital imaging techniques like 3D scanning.
Knowledge of infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures aligned with industry standards.
Familiarity with medical coding and documentation processes related to dental procedures is advantageous.
Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and clinical assisting techniques such as four-handed dentistry.
