Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic. You will assist dentists during procedures, manage patient records, and maintain a sterile environment, all while delivering exceptional service to our patients. Full time benefits include 401(k), and dental care for employee and their immediate family.
Responsibilities
Assist the dentist during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment following infection control protocols.
Take and process dental X-rays and medical imaging as needed.
Manage patient records using Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Conduct chairside assisting while maintaining a comfortable environment for patients.
Monitor vital signs and provide support for pediatric dentistry as required.
Maintain accurate medical documentation and assist with medical coding when necessary.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
Complete training to prepare to become an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Skills
Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Open Dental..
Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques.
Experience in four-handed dentistry and chairside assisting.
Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus.
Ability to perform medical documentation and maintain accurate medical records.
Understanding of infection control protocols within a dental setting.
Experience with 3D scanners is advantageous.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
