Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support our team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring smooth office operations. Experience with dental software and a strong understanding of dental terminology are highly valued. Duties
Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments to ensure a safe and efficient workflow
Assist the dentist during various procedures, including orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry
Take and develop dental radiographs using CAD technology when necessary
Manage patient records using dental software such as Epic and Dentrix
Provide patient education on oral health care and post-treatment instructions
Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety standards
Support front desk duties as a Dental Receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient inquiries
Ensure accurate documentation of procedures and medical history using appropriate medical terminology
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental practice
Proficiency with dental software such as Epic, Dentrix, and CAD systems
Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry procedures
Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to dental care
Certification or training in Dental Assisting is preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatric patients
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Nice-to-have skills include experience with orthodontic appliances, CAD design, Endo assisting and previous work as a Dental Receptionist
Assisting the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures;

Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays);
Asking about the patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse;
Serving as an infection control officer, developing infection control protocol and preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment;
Helping patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment;
Providing patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental
Treatment procedures, such as the placement of a restoration (filling);
Teaching patient’s appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., toothbrushing, flossing and nutritional counseling);
Taking impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts (models of teeth);
Performing office management tasks that often require the use of a computer;
Communicating with patients and suppliers (e.g., scheduling appointments, answering the telephone, billing and ordering supplies); and
Assisting with and helping to provide direct patient care in all dental specialties, including orthodontics, periodontics and oral surgery.
