Responsibilities
Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed
Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff
Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic to ensure accurate medical documentation
Support patients by taking vital signs, explaining procedures, and addressing questions with professionalism and compassion
Maintain clinical supplies inventory and sterilize instruments according to HIPAA regulations and infection control guidelines
Collaborate with the dental team to facilitate four-handed dentistry for efficient patient care delivery
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental clinic setting with knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and records management is a plus
Strong understanding of infection control practices, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners safely and effectively
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry principles and experience working with pediatric patients is preferred
Excellent communication skills to support both team members and patients in a friendly manner
Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology is highly desirable
