Job Overview
Join our dedicated dental team as a Dental Assistant, where your enthusiasm and kindness will help create a welcoming environment for the children we care for. In this vital role, you will assist the dentist during procedures, manage patient records, obtain x-rays, sterilize instruments and ensure the clinic operates smoothly. We are looking for someone who is comfortable around children and able to communicate with parents. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, supportive setting dedicated to health and wellness. You must have an active Texas RDA license. No prior dental experience is required.
Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment following infection control protocols.
Assist the dentist during pediatric dentistry treatments.
Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology, ensuring patient safety with proper aseptic technique.
Manage patient records accurately within Open Dental prctice management software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Provide chairside assistance by handing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a clear field of operation during procedures.
Collect vital signs and medical history information to support comprehensive patient assessments.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering patient inquiries as a dental receptionist, and maintaining medical documentation.
Skills
Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and chairside support.
Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure a safe clinical environment.
Familiarity with dental terminology related to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
Ability to operate dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including the front office team. This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to advance their career in dental assisting while making a positive impact on childrens' oral health!
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
